Sean C. Lewis, Founder and Co-Owner of CTG

Sean C. Lewis grew up in a single parent household during the turbulent mid 1980's early 1990's in Tacoma, Washington. Gang violence and drugs were prevalent and the allure of these things drew Sean into their midst. Sean spent his teenage years trying to deal with his environment as well as his own personal rage. Sean uses his experiences in order to prevent young people from making the same mistakes.

Sean began forming his educational and career goals at Steilacoom High School, graduating in the Class of 1994, Steilacoom, Washington.

Sean's poor choices cost him an opportunity to attend Washington State University. However, Sean was given another opportunity to go to college and attended Central Washington University. After overcoming various obstacles, Sean graduated from CWU, Class of 1999, with a double major in Sociology and Ethnic Studies and a minor in Coaching.

After graduating from college in 1999, Sean had opportunities to play professionally with the San Diego Chargers (NFL) and the B.C. Lions (CFL). After injuries cut Sean's playing career short, he looked for opportunities to stay close to athletics. Sean was certified by the National Association of Personal Fitness Trainers (Orlando, FL 2001). Shortly thereafter, CTG was formed in 2002.

Sean's commitment to serving his community led him to sit on several boards. Sean has served as a member of the Lakewood African-American Police Advisory Committee (LAAPAC), the Law Enforcement and Education Achievement Program (LEEAP), and the Bethel School District Diversity board. Mr. Lewis was also instrumental in the Reclaiming Our Youth (ROY) project. In addition, Mr. Lewis has worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and mentored gang members incarcerated in the Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration (JRA) system while in Washington state.

In 2003, Sean was approached to share his personal experiences. This privilege was embraced by Sean and planted the seed for CTG to include motivational speaking. As time has passed, the community outreach component of CTG has become Sean's passion and is of utmost importance to him.

"Sean has tremendous heart and motivation for building the strength of communities"

- Sheriff Paul Pastor Jr. [Pierce County Sheriff]
